Balance not updating after card redemption

Hi - after redeeming an Apple Gift Card, the balance has updated in my Account profile, but not in the top right corner of screen when you browse the iTunes Store. When will that get updated?

Checking gift card balance doesn't work I don't have an iPhone or use iTunes. When I try to check a gift card balance, I see the swirling busy icon momentarily and that's it. I don't want to buy another gift card just to retest. What's supposed to happen normally?

Try logging out and back into the account in iTunes
