Improve iCloud Drive sync ignoring sub-folders PLEASE!!!
Why is it that the only solution to actually ignoring subfolders from iCloud Drive sync is to append a .nosync extension to it? That completely changes the folder structure!!!
As a developer, the folder names are sometimes VERY meaningful. I hoped to store projects that I wanted backed-up as I worked in case they weren't committed to GitHub / BitBucket yet... But since I cannot ignore folders such as vendor files or "node_modules" (for example), I now have additional versions of package folders with no appropriate way to STOP THIS FROM HAPPENING... My laptop is constantly struggling to keep up with this and the fan is cranked all the time and it's ONLY because of this "feature"...
Furthermore, Apple DELETES files and folders that have been synced if you turn the feature off... Why would you do that? I can't trust that the appropriate files are even synced since you have 6+ copies beneath a project folder, why would I rely on the remote files to be correct just to turn this feature off?
Lastly, I even attempted to go into the iCloud drive web app and delete the folder and re-install the packages, hoping it would sync one last time with only one set of package folders, a few hours later my fan was whirring along and I look only to find that iCloud synced additional folders back down locally... *facepalm* This is a huge waste of my time and I will be moving to Microsoft's OneDrive once I can find a few hours to ensure that everything is backed-up before I "disable" (read: delete) everything locally when I turn this iCloud Drive feature off (for good)...
