2015 Macbook too slow

I’m not sure if it’s my Macbook but I’ve been noticing freezing time to time from most of the applications I use: Contacts, Calendar, Mail and iTunes. Freezing when it’s the only thing being used. And all the time while playing video. Is it just my MacBook?

Quiting Mail and iTunes seems to be a struggle for the Macbook at times too. At times I find myself walking away since it takes so long to close. The same with shutting down and after entering in my password after a cold or warm boot up.

And watching streaming content from iTunes movies, Hulu, DirectTV NOW, YouTube and SlingTV. With the exception of iTunes the others cause the web browser to crash or it would skips frames or it would oddly refresh the browser stopping the playback. iTunes would skip frames and then the audio would be out of sync.

Other then reinstalling the OS I’m not sure what else to do. My MacBook has already come from service with internal parts replaced. It’s now out of service warranty since Apple Care ended. Any ideas as to what could be causing the performance issues?

I was finally able to fix my Mail issue. For months I could not get Mail to sync after coming back from a Time Machine Restore. So today I used a Uninstaller app and I was able to remove it's connected files and folders. And that seem to solved Mail running in the background. Something I've noticed using Activity Monitor. Since the OS was reinstalled iCloud hasn't completely sync yet. So I know that's going to be running in the background. I figured I had old software installed but I had no idea it would effect the system when the applications are not running.

Jul 30, 2018 6:25 AM in response to anonyme4321

I’ll try that software after trying this Malwarebytes remover application. I had older software installed that’s not supported for Mojave perhaps that could be the reason. Plus it’s Beta. But it was the same issue I’ve found with High Sierra. So maybe Parallels 13 and Little Snitch 4 might have something running to slow things down in the background. Heck even Bootcamp was slower than expected. So I erased (reclaimed the partition). I think it’s the CPU and GPU to be honest.

Jul 31, 2018 4:33 PM in response to iciconnect

You may research into "com.avira.antivirus" and see about its removal.

To have a continuously running antivirus component on causes undue

wear and overheats the computer, for no practical purpose.

Unless you have a BootCamp partition running Windows OS. Then to

have/use specific antivirus for that system alone, is a fair enough idea.

Etrecheck can help remove other types of software, adware, malware.

Also you could get & try Malwarebytes (free download for limited use)
