Super Quick Fix to "IMovie no disk space"

I'm doing night before work on imovie, and it said i had no disk space in the selected location. i just needed a quick and temporary fix, and i figured one out. Save and close ur project and Imovie. Search iMovie library in finder and drag it into a usb with lots of space. Make sure you check that all the same files are inside Imovie Library on ur usb, including ur project file. You can open it by right clicking and choosing 'show package contents'. Reopen imovie and it should worrrrkkk! 🙂

Hi,

Thanks for your post.

Make sure that your external drive is formatted Mac OS Extended (Journaled) or your iMovie library won't work on it.

If it is formatted something else, like FAT 32, a Windows format, then you can reformat the drive using the Disk Utility app found in the Utilities folder in the Applications folder. Reformatting a drive will erase all the data on it, so be sure first to backup elsewhere all data that you want to keep. This would include moving your iMovie library off of the external drive before reformatting.
