Possible fix for US holiday calendar?

Will the US holiday calendar be fixed in the future? If not, then is it possible to edit or unsubscribe from it (generally you are unable to unsubscribe)?

First, I have seen a few posts on this subject. However , I do not want this post to follow similar discussions regarding personal views on religion or global issues as I realy do not have an opinion on anything like that.

The Apple US holiday calendar shows too many non-US holidays. (AGAIN, I DO NOT care about the personal stances) I simply just want to see Federally (U.S.) recognized holidays so I know when government offices are closed. The calendar is called “U.S. holiday” calendar and I just want ‘U.S./Federal’ recognized holidays; I understand the desire for including various religious and other holidays.

Yes, I know I can subscribe to other calendars, so please do not reply if that is your comment; I would like to rely on Apple’s itself because of reliability/problems with other calendars.

Alternatively, I want to know if I could edit the calendar or, PREFERABLY NOT, unsubscribe from the calendar entirely; unsubscibing is my last choice for many reasons.

Is Apple going to fix the calendar in the future or is there a different alternative than what I have mentioned?

Hi,

Your post has ended up in iChat as you have made no choice where to place it.

(it goes to the first alphabetical folder (Applications) then to the first item in there (iChat) to get here).

You only list and iPhone.

Did you need it to be in the iPhone Area ?

I will ask the Hosts (Moderators) to move it.

If it about a Mac version your can request a change here

Feedback - Calendar - Apple

Changes here are by weight of numbers making the requests.

You will not get a reply apart from the thank you page.

There is not a similar page for the iOS version.

I have seen that, but that does not unsubscribe me from the calendar (It is a specific exceptio and I’ll paste below the Apple support article). One big problem, out of several for this specific issue, is that it removes past events. HOWEVER, exporting the calendar, in order to keep past events, does not fix the issue; it also seemed to just create more potential problems specifically on my end.

Basically, I am in a Catch 22 situation and so are several people and companies I know on similar systems. Many of us relied on the accuracy of Apple’s version, but now we are sort of locked-in. To be blunt, this problem really *****. Love Apple, but this is the only problem/hiccup I can not seem to fix or resolve. Everyone I have dealt with is dumbfounded because no one foresaw Apple just altering a common usage item. If I had to explain it differently, it is like this: imagine there is a building at 14 Main Street, New York, NY. Now imagine for over 10 years companies have created maps, directions, people have relied on those maps and directions, and the U.S. government refers to that building as 14 Main Street. Basically, it IS 14 MainStreet, etc. Now imagine, that one car manufacturer has made cars over those same 10 years with the best navigation system then... click... one day they just say that building is on the other side of town and that it 14 Main Willy Wonka Avenue. Bad example, but the only other way to describe it is to imagine someone adding their own definitions for words. The world will go on, but I feel bad for others on the system.
