Unreliable Crossfade (itunes)
why does cross fade work for one song but not the next? (v12.0.8.150) Windows 10
null-OTHER, Windows 10, itunes v12.8.0.150
Is one in the cloud? Note crossfade is disabled for consecutive tracks from the same album.

Ok, so I had the same problem. So I test every combination on an iMac, iTunes 12.8.0.150 having had the same problem.
For some reason, it started working....I thought it might be because I was skipping to the last 20 secs to test...when I let a track play through, it worked....so I thought that was the reason...however, now even when I skip ahead it still crossfades - Go figure!
Other than the Apple note (not for consecutive tracks on the same Album) and the long ending/starts that some tracks have.... It seems ....
Crossfade Works for;
Downloaded or Cloud/Streamed
Purchased and Apple Music
In your Library and even just 'Browsing Apple Music'
Update;
Just turned off my Airpods and crossfade has gone when I airplay to a Sonos speaker...will do more testing in this area. Perhaps it works with a local speaker/Bluetooth headset only....More to come.
"Is one in the cloud"? I'm talking about Apple music on the desktop when shuffling songs.
Do the songs have to be downloaded to cross fade?
Possibly, i haven't had the opportunity to test but it might make a difference.

As soon as I stream via airplay2 I lose crossfade....pump it through the local speaker and it comes back....seems it's an external speaker issue.😢
