Sustain Pedal Not Working

My sustain pedal is not functioning (or showing up) in Logic Pro. I plug my Yamaha p-255 keyboard into my computer via USB. My pedal is plugged into my keyboard via 1/4 inch cable. For the last few months, Logic Pro immediately recognized my keyboard and sustain pedal without me having to do anything. But starting yesterday, it stopped recognizing my sustain pedal. I cannot, for the life of me, figure out how to fix this. I'm new to Logic Pro, so I'm assuming (and hoping) it's a simple fix that I've just not stumbled across yet. Thanks.

Sometimes, for reasons unknown Logic assigns control surface functions to existing setups that conflict with basic functions.

In the upper left Logic_Pro menu go to Preferences/Control Surfaces... there you can choose "Bypass All Control Surfaces", this should put you back to a working sustain pedal. You can also try "Rebuilding Defaults"

If neither works you may have to rebuild the Control Surface preferences.

You can also try Turning off the computer, unplugging the keyboard, leave the sustain pedal plugged in, (re-plug it for good measure). Turn the computer back on, let it settles a minute and plug the keyboard back in.
