Login loop bug on Podcast Connect

Every time I log into https://podcastsconnect.apple.com it redirects me to Get Started with iTunes Connect. If I click on the Podcasts icon, it wants me to login again. It's an infinite loop of login and redirect.

I manage a podcast that was moved from iTunes U to Podcasts back when they migrated non-courses out of iTunes U. I'd love to get the detailed analytics.

I have tried:

  • a different browser that has never tried to login to Podcasts Connect -- same login/redirect loop happened
  • authorizing at least one computer for this account through iTunes -- no effect
  • creating a developer account -- no effect
  • contacting Apple for help -- I can't, because when I select Podcasts as the topic, it redirects me to login, and it enters the original login/redirect loop

Any suggestions?

I'm experiencing the same issue:

  1. Podcasts Connect Login (purple)
  2. iTunes Connect Menu (teal)
  3. Click Podcasts Connect
  4. Navigates to blank screen at https://podcastsconnect.apple.com/my-podcasts/new-feed
  5. Redirect to Podcasts Connect Login (purple)

I have tried the following things (from various support discussions):

  1. Multiple browsers
  2. Log in to iTunes with the same account that I'm using to log in to Podcasts Connect
  3. Log in to App Store with the same account that I'm using to log in to Podcasts Connect
  4. Authorize current computer in iTunes
  5. Add a credit card to the same account that I'm using to log in to Podcasts Connect
  6. Add funds to the same account that I'm using to log in to Podcasts Connect
  7. Make a purchase using the same account that I'm using to log in to Podcasts Connect

At this point, I think I'm out of things to try. I sent an email on the 2nd of August to podcastsupport@apple.com explaining the issue as I've explained above. The automated reply said that I have been assigned case number 100602683760. I haven't received any non-automated replies from Apple yet.

I've created an apple ID, but I can't login to itunesconnect. I'm getting the same loop/message that never lets me log in to where I can submit my podcast.

I actually tried this about 5 months ago with the same issue. Is Apple phasing out Podcasting? Or do I just HAVE to buy an apple device or pay some fee? If that would fix it, please let me know.

To be clear, I do NOT use any apple devices, but want to publish my podcast in your ecosystem.

I had this problem and it was caused by a combination of:

1) Not having a separate iTunes account

2) Not having iTunes downloaded to my PC

3) Not being separately signed into both iTunes AND apple.com and the iTunes client

4) Cookies causing a loop because they didn't see the connection

Once you download iTunes to your computer, sign up for an account, then sign into Apple.com, you should be prompted to connect the two accounts. Even after that, you'll get the loop at least one more time because of the problem with the cookie. So depending on your browser, the speed of your computer, and your cache settings, you may still get the loop. But as long as you have the client, are signed in and both iTunes and Apple.com accounts have been linked, at least you're on the right path. After that, you can clear your cache on your browser and resign into everything and hopefully it will work for you.

Hope this helps.

I don't think that info is relevant for me...

I have iTunes on my iMac and am signed in and frequently purchase stuff without problems from the iTunes store (and just bought a song I didn't even want just now to test things).

I have tried using Chrome (which I've never used before) so cookies aren't the answer.

I don't know what you mean by 'not having a separate iTunes account' - separate to what? Or not being separately signed into the iTunes client and iTunes (are they not the same thing?) - and again, separate to what?

Thx

PC user here: I say separate because I thought the iTunes account and the Apple.com account would have been connected in some way or would have been the same thing. But apparently they are two separate entities with separate logins and separate passwords. Once you connect those two accounts, it made things suddenly work for me. I mistakenly thought having an Apple.com account only would have been enough. But you have to have a separate iTunes account as well as a separate Apple.com account. And then you have to connect them.

Since you say you already use iTunes, check to see if you are signed into iTunes with an Apple.com account. If so, try logging out, creating a separate iTunes account, then logging back in with the iTunes account. Then, connect the two accounts. I'm guessing it's possible to sign into iTunes with an Apple.com account.

I had a reply back from Apple Support. This is what they suggest, if it helps anyone else - I am doubtful the first steps described will help me but am off to try them now...

Thank you for contacting us.

I understand that you have been unable to access Podcasts Connect to submit your podcast as it continues to loop you to the login screen.

To troubleshoot this issue, make sure that your Mac is authorized in the iTunes application.

1. Open iTunes.

2. If you’re not signed in, sign in with your Apple ID.

3. From the menu bar at the top of your computer screen, choose Account > Authorizations > Authorize This Computer.

Next, download or purchase an app using your Apple ID (this can be a free item); this will ensure your Apple ID is fully enabled for the iTunes Store.

Last, please clear your web browser’s cache, cookies, and history. Once you have completed these steps, please try to access Podcasts Connect again. You can also try to submit your request from another web browser.

If you are still receiving this error, please provide the following:

• Steps to reproduce the issue

• Full-window screenshots or video illustrating the issue

• Username of each user experiencing the issue

• Web browser and version number

• System information (device model and OS version number)

• Approximate date and time the error occurred (including time zone)

• The URL of the page

• Source code of the error page

To obtain the source code, right-click the error page and select Show Page Source. Please copy and paste the source code (do not attach it as a file) in a reply to this email.

After we receive the requested information, we will investigate further and let you know when we have an update. Thank you for your assistance.

YAAAAAYYYY!!! Amazingly, the steps above worked for me and I've been able to submit my podcast.

I did this - and I followed all the steps even though I was already signed in, computer was already authorised - I redid it all...

You can also try to submit your request from another web browser."

To elaborate on the last part of this (clear web browser's cache, cookies and history):

Close all browser windows first.

To delete History, go History>Clear History.

To delete Cookies, go to Privacy>Manage Website Data>Delete All

To delete cache, go Safari Preferences>Advanced>Show Develop Menu in Menu bar (tiny tick box at the bottom). Then a new menu will appear in the toolbar called Develop. Scroll Down to Empty Caches.

Then I re-opened Safari.

Good luck, hope it works for you.
