Server - Connection Failed
Hi,
Have an Mac mini with file sharing enabled using SMB and until recently have regularly connected to it over WiFi to transfer files between machines, etc.
Have also used screen sharing to directly access the iMac when in the Lounge using my MacBook.
Though screen sharing still works fine, whenever I try to connect to the Mac Mini using SMB or AFP I get a "Connection Failed" message.
The Mac mini appears in the SideBar but gives the failed message when I click on it. It also won't connect when using the "Connect to Server" menu item - in this case it suggest I Contact my system admin... Which is of course me 🙂.
Have checked the IP address to ensure that I am connecting to right IP and also that I am using the right protocol - SMB and/or AFP (having switched between one or other and having both on).
Have also restarted both machines and turned off file sharing on the Mini (and restarted, etc., etc.)
Anyone got any ideas?
Both machines are on 10.13.6.
And as I say it is quite odd in the the Mini does appear in the SideBar on the Air...
Any advice gratefully received.
Thanks,
Ian
