My iPhone 8 Plus is not backing up

If you mean automatically backing up, it needs to be plugged into a power source, on Wifi, and on the Lock Screen to do that, and it doesn't happen instantly. So, you need to just plug it in, make sure it is on Wifi, let it go to the Lock screen, and then go do something else for awhile (like sleep?).
