Is iPhone 8 truly IP67 rated?

I got rained on the other day with my phone in my pocket. It took me a solid five minutes to get out of the rain. Fortunately for me, my iPhone 8+ is rated IP67 and can handle

being submerged for up to 30 minutes in water, right? WRONG! My iPhone immediately started acting up. Camera lenses fogged up. And my proximity sensor stopped working. Unfortunately for me, the liquid sensor is orange, so my iPhone is apparently no longer covered by Apple. If my iPhone is truly IP67 rated, it would not have failed. There has to be an explanation for this. I’m incredibly disappointed since my phone is only a few months old and not having a functional proximity sensor is a huge issue. I really wish Apple would back their claim of IP67 and support fixing this since its clearly not meeting the rating that’s claimed on their labels.

That is not a response by Apple. It is a response by me. As I said, this is a volunteer user community forum. It is not an Apple Inc. support site. Posters here do not work for nor speak for Apple.
