Best Modem for Apple products: MacBook iPhone etc

The best modem(s) are that ones that your Internet Service Provider sells or recommends for use with their service.

Start your search by contacting your Internet Service Provider (ISP) for a list of recommended modems. Then, decide on whether you want to buy your own modem......or "rent" the modem from the provider.

Your question is near impossible to answer.

We would need to know your location in the world.. your Specific ISP and your Specific connection method.

One of the folk who post here would then need direct experience of your particular setup. Unless you are in the US this is near impossible.

We have seen issues for example with single port Arris and Surfboard series cable modems. I would avoid those models. A quick google will show you what model is going to give trouble.

Sometimes airports work poorly with PPPOE. I would not recommend them when ISP requires this. Nor do they support some of the more advanced setup required with fibre.. vlan over wan for example.

In the end there just is no generalised answer.

However if you are in the US.. post your ISP name.. type of connection.. current modem or gateway you are supplied.

We can help with simple ADSL or VDSL questions.. but often ISP setups in UK/Europe or Australia are so specific we cannot possibly have tested them all.

not sure where I live the modem be it fiber, adsl or the likes would be provided by the isp

the fiber modem I use now is great because it just has a ethernet port which is connected to the extreme which handle everything, if the fiber modem even has any sort of configuration it's unknown to be.
