Problem with an old SMB connection on High Sierra

Good morning all,

I have the problem with a old SMB connection.

At each logon, a window appears requesting login information for an old share that has since been deleted.

This problem appears on each session when it is opened.

I've already deleted recent connections, checked items that need to open on login, restarted the SMB service and checked into Time Machine as well.

The Mac has High Sierra 10.13.5.

Thank you in advance for your help.

Best regards,

Bastien.

Do you mean if reinstall will fix the issue or you did already reinstall but it is still prompting for username and password?

My guess is that when those configuration files which you cannot find are gone it will stop prompting.

However, since I don't know what the real cause of that prompt is (which software is still looking for that volume), I cannot assure that reinstalling will "fix" it. For example, if it is something configured via profile, in which case it will keep happening and you will need to involve your IT team.
