i just recently started having a problem with my Tap to wake not working. I’ve had the phone since November and have had Tap to wake turned on. I’ve shut the phone off and turned it on. I’ve tried hitting the vol up and vol down and holding the lock button till it restarted and it still wont work. I’ve turned the tap to wake off and on while doing all these things. I’m currently using 11.4.1.
I've started experiencing the same issue today. Have never had my screen replaced and no damage to my phone lately. Tried turning tap to wake off and restarting with no luck. Hope a fix comes soon, very frustrating.
Unfortunately, I started having the same or maybe worse tap to make problem as well. Last night, suddenly my tap to wake feature stopped working. I did hard reset and turn off/on but no luck. This morning it got even worse, like I am touching digit 4 but it suddenly types 455.
It is very frustrating. The worst part is that now I am in Turkey and app store does not support Iphone X Model A1865 because I purchased it when I was in Miami. I will be in the states by September and it seems like I am stuck!!
Apple please fix it if it is software issue!!!
same thing has just happened to mine, in addition I can’t swipe down from the top of my screen to bring the notifications tab or the shortcuts tab up. Very frustrating but I doubt Apple will fix for free, they never acknowledge their own faulty products.
Same issue. Tap to Wake function is not working. Plus, sometimes my iphone X starts to function on its on as if there is virus in there. If i am watching youtube, it starts changing the songs on its own. Any suggestions?
It is on. As I said on my post, I have had it turned on and still is on. I have turned it off and turned it back on. It’s on right now and still doesn’t work.
Anyone found a solution I also started experiencing the problem a couple of days ago, tried forced reset and resetting all settings and still the same :(

Same here as well. Mine has been out since 8/2018 but started working again 2wks. ago. That lasted about 8 days and is now out again. Very frustrating.

Same here. I tried every methods listed above. None of them works. I am going to Apple Genius Bar today see what they say about this issue.

My touchscreen stopped working right after I updated to 12.2. Now tap to wake doesn’t work. Ive toggled with General-Accessibilty-TAP TO WAKE to no avail. Hopefully a solution will be posted soon.
Tap to wake just failed for me (too). IPhone X just updated to 12.2 and then this happened - too much of a coincidence. Turned feature off then on; rebooted; nothing helped.
I had the screen replaced about 6 months ago but only a day ago the tap to wake function has stopped working. Does Apple still not have a fix for this.
I removed screen protector but still it does not function at all. I am leaving apple if it does not get fixed!!!
