Can I turn off two-factor authentication after I’ve turned it on?
If you already use two-factor authentication, you can no longer turn it off. Certain features in the latest versions of iOS and macOS require this extra level of security, which is designed to protect your information. If you recently updated your account, however, you can unenroll for a period of two weeks. Just open your enrollment confirmation email and click the link to return to your previous security settings. Keep in mind, this makes your account less secure and means that you can't use features that require a higher level of security.

I don’t suppose we ever get a reply from Apple on this site do we? (I don’t usually join these conversations). I did not ask for two-factor on my phone or iPad, it just appeared - and it started texting my daughter the ‘secure’ passcode - very secure Apple, thank you. well done.
i would appreciate being able to turn this off without having to go through the hassle of changing the password on all our devices. Does anyone know if this is possible?
thank you, steve

This suggests your daughter enabled 2FA using her phone number as a trusted device and that you and she share an Apple ID..
Apple doesn’t routinely monitor the discussions. These are mostly user to user discussions.
Send Apple feedback. They won't answer, but at least will know there is a problem or a suggestion for change. If enough people send feedback, it may get the problem/suggested change solved sooner.
I never used two factor authentication and don’t want it on my devices however with this last push of system updates it loaded it on my phone! I didn’t want it and didn’t ask for and now I can’t take this mf blasted thing off of here! Tell me how to remove it,
Yet, my 6s has so little memory (16GB - why did they even make such a low power model?) that I can't update to the newer iOS...I haven't been able to for at least a year. Yet it forces me to adopt this stupid two factor authentication? I'm really tired of Apple making their products obsolete at light speed.
this *****
How do you log into your account if you lose your phone, and therefore unable to get a verification code?
Further to the above - every single one of my devices is asking me to authenticate on a registered device... ...none of them are registered! Glad Apple though this one through...!
Me too! its so annoying!
