Import the video into iTunes.
iTunes for Mac: Import music and video already on your computer
After the video is in your iTunes library, sync it to the iPad.
Sync your iPhone, iPad, or iPod touch with iTunes on your computer using USB - Apple Support
Synced movies should be in the TV app. Try this, launch the TV app. Tap on Library in the bottom center of the screen. Tap on Library at the top left. Then tap downloaded. Also, see if you have a Home Movie option in there.
Thanks but it's not there. In ITunes on my computer, with the IPad connected, it looks as if the films are on the IPad.
But where? Searching the IPad doesn't find them either.
Thank you. This seemed to work fine but I can't see the videos on the IPad.
Look in the TV app
What version iPad do you have? What Demo said, go into TV App, upper left corner, Library > Home Videos.
Many thanks. Found it.
Thanks for ending my frustration and an enormous amount of wasted time!
You’re quite welcome. I’m sorry that I didn’t suggest it sooner.
