How To Permanently Delete App(s) From iCloud

I have an app, which I downloaded from the iOS App Store. I somehow corrupted the app, so I deleted it, went to download it again, and see a cloud symbol. I download it anyway.

To my surprise, the app was acting as it had before I deleted it - wonky!

I have tried to find ways to delete the app completely from iCloud, but even going onto my phone, and going to the apps stored in the cloud, and removing it, I still see the cloud symbol next to the app, which I want to download again. I do not want to keep going around in circles, just getting the same corrupted app. I also saw many many other apps that I have not used, nor will again, saved in the cloud. What is the point of this utter nonsense of making one keep a copy of an app that is corrupted, and/or you just do not want?!😠 How do I permanently delete this app and others?

Apps are not stored in iCloud. The cloud icon just means you can download it again, but the download actually comes directly from the app store.

There is no way to remove previously purchased apps from that list however. They don't take up space in your iCloud in any case, and are just links to the apps in the store for convenience.

In most countries companies are required to keep archives of sales for tax purposes so Apple maintains a list of apps you have bought for that and to have a way to track your purchases and be able to let you access previous purchases again without having to pay for them more than once.

Apps are not stored in your iCloud space. The reason you see a little cloud in the App Store is to let you know that you've already authorized a download and can do so again without further authorization or additional payment.

Sometimes deleting and then re-downloading an app helps resolve a problem. But, sometimes, it's not the answer. Contact the developer and let them know that you're having a problem.
