I have been trying to find out how to add a simple white border on a photo on my Mac. I could not find a way in the Photos app. I downloaded BorderFX for iPhoto, but was unable to use it. Does anyone have any solutions?
MacBook Air, iOS 10.3.3, The OS is actually 10.13.6
The Photo Editing Extension "Super Borders" can add borders to the photo. You can call it from the Edit menu if you purchase it from the AppStore. But a plain white border is missing from the collection.

Or try FX Photo Studio CK. It has a nice selection of plain borders.
None of the extensions are free.
If you really want only a plain white border, you could use the Markup Extension in Photos to draw a white rectangle with a thick line width on top of the photo. The Markup extension comes for free with Photos.

a border usually is not part of a photo, like a shadow or a reflection.
you would add these effects when using a photo in a document.
you can easily add these effects in pages or other layout programs.
