Greetings franc9,

Thanks for visiting the Apple Support Communities! I understand you're unable to add accessories to the Home app on your iPad, as the process continuously searches when you scan the HomeKit code from the accessory.

The following support article provides helpful information for setting up accessories with the Home app: Use the Home app on your iPhone, iPad, and iPod touch

Specifically, the first section gives helpful suggestions:

Before you begin

If the issue remains, let's have you verify your HomeKit accessories and your iPad are turned on and connected with the same Wi-Fi network, and that your iPad has Bluetooth turned on. I also suggest restarting your iPad and accessories: Restart your iPhone, iPad, or iPod touch

Additionally, you might need to restore the accessories to factory settings if the accessories were previously used in another home. There might be a reset button on the accessories you can use. Calling the accessory manufacturer, visiting their website, or checking the manual can help to find more information for resetting the accessory to factory settings.

Let me know how the provided suggestions work for you.

Kind regards.
