Clips imported to Final Cut Pro have no audio

I've been downloading and importing clips from Twitch.Tv to Final Cut Pro for quite some time now and never had an issue with it whatsoever. Recently though a problem appeared, the clips that I download from Twitch and then import to FCP lack complete sound. There's no audio wave when I put it in the FCP timeline. Although when I play the clip in Quicktime the audio is perfectly fine.

I've tried the following things

- Restarting my computer

- Uninstalling and Reinstalling Final Cut Pro.

Although I did perform a little experiment that that gave an interesting result but I don't know what it means.

Basically what I did was, I uploaded the twitch clip to Youtube first and then subsequently downloaded it from there. Once I had done that I imported the clip to FCP and just like that, the audio started working again! I have no clue what this means though..

PS: When I use old twitch clips, the audio works. It's only when I download new and recent twitch clips that this issue occurs.

I had the same problem and I just found a solution. Download a free software called handbrake, and change the format to mp4. Even if it already is mp4, run it through the program. Final cut shouldn’t have any more audio issues
