I am in desperate need of recovering emails and need them as reference for my new job. I cleared all of my icloud email and deleted them from the trash to make more storage as my phone was telling me I needed to clear space. Is there any way of getting these emails back, the sender is still listed as a VIP in my emails - not sure if this will help?

I understand you deleted emails from your @icloud.com account, and then deleted them permanently from the trash on your iPhone. If you go to www.icloud.com website from a computer browser, sign in with your Apple ID and click on the Mail app, you can check to see if the email is showing in the VIP mailbox or in Trash. But in all likelihood, the email will have been erased there as well. The only other option would be to ask the sender to foward the email messages to you again.
In the future, follow these steps to make backup copies of your iCloud data:
Archive or make copies of the information you store in iCloud
Take care.
