Take Extremely long to open message

I bought my Macbook pro 2 weeks ago. Start from yesterday, message app take extremely long to open (around 1 min) while other apps acting normally. After the message window shows up on the screen, every functions works well.

MacBook Pro (15-inch, 2018), macOS High Sierra (10.13.6)

I can't open the message app on my mac. I used to be able to open the message app but somehow it wouldn't open last night. I tried opening it but it wouldn't work. Messages App and Monterey 12.0.1 After installed Monterey 12.0.1 on my MacBook Pro (15 inch, 2016 2.0 GHz Quad-Core Intel i7), Messages simply will not open. When I click on the icon, nothing happens for a few seconds until the crash report appears. I've restarted my system and that hasn't helped. Is there an easy fix?

Messages App continuously VERY slow to start and hangs throughout the session. MacBookPro M1, when I start messages app it takes anywhere from 30 seconds to 2 minutes to start. Then it will allow a few characters to be typed then get the "Spinning wheel" for 2-5 minutes, most times I will get the Application Hung error, send to Apple?. I always choose send. I have tried all of the remedies, short of re-installing the OS I cannot afford to take the chance of data loss, the most critical is I cannot take the time to do a fresh re-install. This just started happening in the past couple of months. No new software or hardware has been added, save Monterey OS updates. Any ideas? Thanks for any help.
