Disable 2 factor authentication

I need to disable my 2 factor authentication but the screen in my settings doesnt allow me to do that. The link to do that is not appearing. What can I do ? I have a Iphone 8 Plus and created the Icloud account last week.

Its rubbish I can't live with it either. Why do we have to have this stuff rammed down our throats if we don't want it. Its an absolute pain in the back side. All apple users should have the option!!

Apple has a legal duty to keep your data secure if they have it on their servers. Just like your bank gets to decide how long and what characters must be in the passcode you use to access online banking (and they may even required 2FA), Apple gets to decide how to fulfill that duty.

If you explain what problems you're having using 2FA, perhaps someone can give you some suggestions on how to use it more efficiently. If I have to enter the 2FA code once a week, that's a lot. It's usually more like once a month.

You can generate a code on the device you have in your hand:

Get a verification code and sign in with two-factor authentication - Apple Support

Any device that is signed into iCloud is considered a Trusted Device, so if you take a look at the section "Get a Code from Settings on your Trusted Device", you will see how to do that.

And you can reply to either Idris or to me. We consider ourselves one in the same 😁
