Logic Pro X Piano roll not displaying the correct track

Hi, when I usually double click a track, the midi notes will appear in the piano roll below. However, despite restarting the project, or deleting a track then replacing it, the issue still persists. It would consistently show one particular track, and not be the one I had just double clicked on. Furthermore, even if I open the piano roll separately in a new window, the midi notes wouldn't appear at all (despite it being the right track now).

Hard to explain, but see screenshot - I have double clicked and selected the track 'Tam-tam', yet what is displayed is the 'BassDrumHits' track (and is consistently the case regardless of which track I select) It's really annoying because I can't adjust the length of the note or velocity easily with the pencil tool.

If I go via 'window' and 'open piano roll', after choosing the same track 'Tam-tam', only the second bubble from bars 41-51 appear in the window, and not the first bubble from bars 1-28. Even though I only double clicked on the first green bubble (sorry I don't know the technical term of this!)

Please help! I hope it's an obvious issue to solve...or something silly to do with my mouse or beginner's brain.

Thank

Enable the chain icon in the piano roll. Make it yellow - “content link” - once enabled when you click on a region you should see the notes.
