2018 MacBook Pro keyboard sound

Hi there!

I noticed that not all keys on the new 2018 MacBook Pro (in my case 13 inch) produce the same sound. There are also differences within the letter keys, for example the upper keys R, T, Y, U sound much "clickier" than the lower keys V, B, N, M. "Clickier" can be imagined as more resembling to the previous 2017 MacBook Pro keyboard. So the lower keys sound softer.

- Is this normal? What can cause it?

Thanks for the help!

Kind regards and have an awesome day

Hi SandroMak

Sorry for asking again (don't want to bother you), but could you confirm/answer my questions above? Here they are again, so you won't have to search them :-)

- So is it also the case at your keyboard, that the upper keys R, T, Y, U sound much "clickier" than the lower keys V, B, N, M?

- And what do you think is the reason for that? Could it be that under the different keys there are different components (Battery, CPU,...)?

Thank you very much!

Also other people are welcomed answering!

Hi! I did not approach such a keyboard test so carefully. I have a mechanical keyboard on my desktop computer, which is very loud compared to the keyboard in my MacBook Pro 2018! so for me the sound of the keys on the laptop seems pretty quiet! and me not crossed in head to compare still and sounds, in different places have) here is now specifically compare, and think, that the difference in sounding there is, but barely distinguishable. Personally for me it is not strange or unpleasant. I can only say that on my old MacBook about 2013 the keys were completely silent, compared to the new MacBook about 2018
