Certificate error when checking email from PC?

Not sure if I'm in the right place, but...

A friend, who has a me.com email account recently started getting the message;

The server you are connected to is using a security certificate that cannot be verified

The target principal name is incorrect

Do you want to continue using this server?

The name on the certificate is smtp.mac.com, with an expiration date of 12/9/2018

her iPhone & iPad are working fine, assuming they ar all uing the same settings.

In her mail settings, she has smtp.me.com is the outgoing server - has this recently changed?

What are the correct mail settings I should be using with outlook?

Thanks!

I have no experience with Outlook.

I would try deggie's suggestion - provided there IS an Exchange Server that she is connecting with (contact her Exchange admin?) - you can use Outlook as a straight up email client without an Exchange Server

What happens when she chooses [Yes] (1st image)??

Does the alert go away, then come back each time Outlook "gets messages"?
