Aperture cant seem to read my D850 raw files. Is there a plugin I need or hasn't the D850 been added to the list being a later model.

The RAW format of your camera is supported in High Sierra, and you can develop the RAW format in Photos or other applications that are fully compatible with High Sierra, but the RAW support for Aperture is stuck on the support in El Capitan.
There are no new cameras added to Aperture for a couple of years now. That's part of the whole 'no longer developed or sold' thing, I'm afraid. Options: use something to covert the NEFs to a DNG or face the fact that Aperture is the past and you need to be working on the replacement best for you.
