2 versions of same song by same artist shows as "Album"

I just cannot figure out how itunes works when it comes to organizing albums and songs. I have 2 versions of the same song, both are singles by the same artist, but iTunes displays them as an "Album" with 2 songs (unknown album of course) and is using the same artwork for each. Wrong!! I have renamed, deleted album info, changed artwork for each, and iTunes just will not do what I want. iTunes shows the same artwork for both, and that's not what I want. Also, I do not want either of them labeled as "Albums"... and they should appear under "Artist" ONLY! Help!!

In iTunes everything (in Music) is an album, give the albums unique titles and they can each have their own artwork. E.g. <Song> [Radio Mix] and <Song> [Extended DJ XYZ Mix]. Complete the album, album artist, and artist field for every track and your library will behave better than it will if you leave fields blank.
