LOGIC PRO X ISSUES : Logic has the worst bugs and glitches

I don't even know how to explain this properly. But here are my issues.

Every now and then I have a problem where my logic session would automatically only allow the right output to be heard in a stereo mix. It wouldn't pan all my tracks to the right but the left signal would not be outputted and I would only get right signals. So if I were to finish a project and try to bounce the stereo mix.. midway, everything would be outputted to the right suddenly and automatically. Sometimes after I try to change the buffer size of my project, some of my tracks would automatically get solo'ed without the solo button even being activated (I can't undo the solo for some stupid reason either) and another issue that I have while all this would happen is a sudden CPU spike when I barely have any tracks and a huge CLICK sound that clips and stops my project. This huge CLICK repeats and also doesn't let me playback the project properly. The only fix I found was to DELETE that session and make a new one (it also happens at the end stages of a project too which friggin makes me want to kill myself). I have no issues with the number of tracks or CPU usage because sometimes all these issues happen even when I have less than 25 tracks and the length of the session would be less than a MINUTE. (no added 3rd party plugins whatsoever either)

I'm sorry if it seems like a lot of complaining but I feel unless there is an ACTUAL fix to this I am most certain that I am going to move away from Logic forever. I have used Logic for more than a third of my life and it is seriously the worst feeling ever because it was really comfortable to use before all these stupid updates ruining everything.

I never had an issue with Logic before and it keeps getting worse with stuff like getting rid of 3rd party samples in the loops browser and replacing it with untagged loops which is basically a downgrade. Sure alchemy is cool but if I can't even sequence what is the point?

I have a Macbook Pro 15 inch 2.7 GHz Intel Core i7 16 GB RAM. There should be NO problem when it comes to the power and speed needed.

Maybe it could be a Mac issue but that wouldn't make any sense because my other DAWs (PRO TOOLS, ABLETON LIVE) that I use time to time have NO PROBLEM AT ALL regarding these issues.

Any help would be appreciated.

Try moving the session to an external drive and then launching Logic by opening that session. Logic really benefits from recording to a different hard drive than it is running on (the system drive or boot drive.)

At the very least, you should have two external drives- a small but fast SSD or 7200 RPM Firewire (400 or 800,) USB -C or Thunderbolt Drive for recording, and then a big Cheap USB 2.0 Drive for backing everything up via Time Machine.

Does this happen when all MIDI controller hardware is not connected up?

Are you absolutely sure that there is no Solo automation happening? See also above regarding external controller devices.

Any 3rd party plugins or demo versions involved?

Sorry to hear this dtwolee

Best follow the advice of the more experienced users on this forum.

Once you do get things sorted and everything is working, I can suggest turning off auto dates and sticking with the OS and Logic version that is stable.

As for turning to another DAW, they all suffer from bugs & glitches, Reaper, Cubase, Pro Tools and all.

At least on here you have people giving advice.

Good luck.

Sure, that is why I am here for advice.

Sorry, What do you mean by auto dates?

And I do use pro tools and ableton, and yes, they both do have their own set of bugs and glitches but these kind of issues have only been showing up in logic. Which is why I am curious on why this might happen. The glitches on ableton and pro tools are not to the same degree of logic’s but it is hard to just move on to another daw because like I said I have been using Logic as my main Daw for quite a while now. I love logic so it frustrates me on how I can’t start and finish a project on it without having these massive glitches resulting in “dead projects”.
