what about iPhoto?

I have an older macbook Pro with OX X Capitan version 10.11.6 and a Mac mini (late 2012) with macOS high sierra version 10.13.4 that I have been using for my numerous photos, making annual family memory books, albums etc since 2009. I tired to follow the steps to upgrade my current work (family album 2018) however, iPhoto does not offer the option to upgrade present work as explained in the mail apple sent out stating the steps necessary to follow. How should one proceed? I usually send the yearly album offer on Jan 1st with the previous years pictures. HELP!

Mac mini (Late 2012), macOS High Sierra (10.13.4), null

You have still a full month to order your yearly book from Apple. After that, you need to be running at least MacOs 10.13. High Sierra to be able to use Photos 3.0 and Photo Project extensions to order your books directly fom the Photos.app.

Alternately, if you do not want to upgrade to High Sierra because of incompatible software, you can save your iPhoto Photo books as PDF files and order them from Presto Photos Photo Book Printing, Color Book Printing, and Calendar Printing - PrestoPhoto

The iPhoto application is a defunct product from Apple's perspective. After Yosemite 10.10.3, Photos became the new game in town with a migration feature between iPhotos into the new Photos library. Apple will not provide any upgrade solution for iPhoto beyond the old v9.6.1.

Here is a link to Create and order print products in Photos with Project Extensions article that you will need to follow after Sept. 30, 2018.
