My Safari Browser Highjacked

When I saw a pop up window to update my Adobe Flash player I clicked on it. Big Mistake. we know.ac, a browser highjacked was installed on my MacBook Pro. I want to know how to uninstall this highjacked off my computer. It is locked in as the default home page for safari. The Homepage slot is grayed out so I can't change it. I have run malware and have tried to delete this highjacker other ways with no success. My Safari is Version 11.1.2 (13605.3.8). My MacBookPro is a refurbished Mid 2012 running High Sierra OS version 10.13.6. Thanks for any help.

Thanks for the fast reply Carolyn. I did download Malwarebyte and ran its scan and deleted 11 or 12 pieces of malware that it found. But the weknow.ac is still grayed out in the homepage slot in Safari Preferences. However, I downloaded Malwarebyte with Safari. Is your suggestion to download a different browser like Firefox, for example, then download Malwarebytes, and do another scan to try to delete weknow.ac?
