AirPlay from iPhone to Mac

i have speakers connected on my Mac in one of our rooms.

is it possible to play music from my IPhone and use the Mac as an AirPlay target ? or would i need to get an AirPlay speaker or AppleTV instead of the Mac as as a player in the room ?

Its not for iTunes, which i can control using the Remote app, but for other apps like YouTube, Pandora.... that support AirPlay targets...

Thanks

No. The Mac is not natively an AirPlay receiver.

There is software out there that can enable the option however. See here: software recommendation - Can I use a Mac as an Airplay audio receiver? - Ask Different
