I was using my iPad Air 2 this morning and it ran out of power.
I plugged it in. After an hour I went to use it and it requests 6 digit pin. Fails. I'm now locked out for 15 minutes.
I use the same PIN on my iPhone and iPad and I can unlock my iPhone so I'm not loosing my mind. What is the easiest way to access my iPad?
Should have the latest IOS on it.

If it won't accept your passcode, this is the only option: If you forgot the passcode for your iPhone, iPad, or iPod touch, or your device is disabled - Apple Support
So I was able to hard force the iPad to reset, update software and do a restore from a backup from January. Still seems like a software/hardware bug with the iPad or IOS. I now need to re-install things that I lost.
If you backed up on a regular basis, you wouldn't have lost anything.
