How do I reset SMC so USB C ports work when both will not keep a charge?

I updated my MBP with the latest update today, and afterward my computer only had 8% battery and both USB-C ports were not working, so my computer would not charge, nor would a USB stick show up on Finder. I assume I need to reset SMC, but power coming into the computer is required to reset the SMC. Now my computer's battery is dead, and no way to charge the computer. And I live in the back woods of SE Asia with no apple store nearby to help solve the problem!!! Please help!!!

MBP 2017. 2 USB C ports only, no touch bar.

Thanks,

Byron

Try resetting the SMC for your particular Mac http://support.apple.com/kb/ht3964

and

Try resetting NVRAM/PRAM http://support.apple.com/kb/ht1379

1. Shut down the computer.

2. Locate the following keys on the keyboard: Command, Option, P, and R. You will need to hold these keys down simultaneously in step 4.

3. Press and hold the Command-Option-P-R keys.

4. Turn on the computer.

5. Hold the keys down until the computer restarts and you hear the startup sound for the second time.

6. Release the keys.
