Swollen battery and destroyed trackpad.
I have a MacBook Pro 13'' from 2011 as my second computer. After not being used for a while, I used it again without problems on the 28th of August, with the original charger plugged in. I turned off the computer after use.
Yesterday, the 2nd of September, six days later, I opened the MacBook again and discovered that the battery had swollen and destroyed the trackpad.
I have googled the problem, and it seems that swollen battery is a reoccurring issue. Can I expect Apple to do anything about it, despite that the warranty has expired? I am afraid that it is not worth repairing such an old computer.
