When I move my finder windows they ghost - leaving a trail of clear edges - and go transparent. If I don't move them they are fine. A graphics card issue or OSX (10.13.6) ?

You can test further:
Try a SafeBoot https://support.apple.com/en-us/HT201262
Takes noticeable longer to get to the login screen as certain system caches, dynamic loader cache etc get cleared and
rebuilt. This test will tell you if third party interference; extensions etc are not loaded, Apple extensions only, which does not including display acceleration.
Test issue in another user (or guest user) account https://support.apple.com/en-us/HT204443
This will tell you if it a universal issue or isolated to your user/admin account.

Thank you - I will give that a go. I have zapped the PRAM and this seems to have resolved the weird finder window issue but Safari is now on the blink - not loading images so have reverted to FireFox which is fine and second monitor not working - turn it on and the main Mac display goes dark.....ho hum. I have a MacPro (Early 2009) - the aluminium tower one - with 2x3.46Ghz 6-core Intel Xeon processors, 32GB 1333Mhz DDR3 memory, SSD start up disc (was rebuilt last year.)
