Battery compartment to Apple Magic Mouse is stuck and won't open. Help!

FYI, your advice about repeatedly trying to gently pry open the battery cover, finally worked. (I did let the mouse rest in a cool place before I made further numerous attempts. I think doing that, along with taps, shakes, and assorted fingernails, dislodged the stuck cover and not a moment too soon.) 🙂 Thanks again.

I already broke a fingernail trying, but I'll keep on it. I'm leaving it in front of the air conditioner, in case the cool air helps loosen it. But I have no choice but to keep trying. I wanted to go to the local Apple store Genius Bar but the earliest appointment was Friday afternoon, which will not work for me!

Been trying this. Doesn't help. Tried gently tapping it too. I am afraid to pry it open--I might damage it. Where would I pry this--and how? The release button presses down fine but the cover won't come off. I think it might be due to the humidity. My battery is below 10% so I'm in a panic (I work on this computer).
