Issues updating to High Sierra

Hello,

I am trying to update my Mac Mini from El Capitan to High Sierra, and the progress bar has frozen near the end. It has not moved for over an hour.

What can I do to fix this?

Mac mini (Late 2012), OS X El Capitan (10.11.6)

"It has not moved for over an hour."

It’s possible the disk needs repairing.

Shut down your Mac then startup while holding down the Command + R keys. From there you should be able to access the built in utilities in OS X Recoveryto repair the startup disk and restore OS X.

High Sierra requires about 15 GB’s of storage space for the upgrade.
