Hey guys, I recently checked my data usage under mobile in settings, and it says that find my iPhone has used almost 200MB! I last reset these statistics a little under a month ago, so I’m puzzled as to why it is using up so much data. Any suggestions? I am on the iPhone X running iOS 11.4.

If you use Find my iPhone it downloads the map every time. And it also uses cellular data. Why are you using Find my iPhone so much? You should only be using it to find a lost phone. If you want to track a phone routinely use Find my Friends. [edit after reading another post]
It shouldn't be using any unless you were looking for your iPhone on it. Try disabling it and location services and then turn them back on again.

Well, see, I use find my iPhone quite a lot, but I don’t understand why it should use so much data. Doesn’t it download the map every time? Or does location tracking use lots of data?
Don’t judge me. I pretty much use find my iPhone everyday to see how far away my mum is before picking me up from school.
I prefer the interface of find my iPhone.
Then you will just have to put up with the data usage then.
Why in the world are you using Find My iPhone a lot? No, it never downloads the map, it has to have a data connection for both the map and locating the phone. Your usage makes much more sense now.
