Replicating Mailbox Folders Across Devices
Ion IInjb;b;jIBack in 2016 this problem was highlighted and a solution found (copied below). However I have tried the same process, assuming I've interpreted the process correctly, but cannot get the same satisfactory result.
I'm not on Gmail
On my MBP I have:
Created a new mailbox under iCloud "FILES 1"
Attempted to Export Mailbox my folder "FILES" from "On my Mac" to "FILES 1" under iCloud but
Under "Choose a destination folder for mailbox exports..." the only option in the window is "iCloud Drive" and
under that no appropriate options to choose from as far as I can see.
On my iMac I have:
Created a new mailbox under iCloud "FILES 1" and...
Under Get Account info it shows:
I cannot see how to import the folder FILES 1 from iCloud / "iCloud Drive" so = nothing in FILES 1
Really grateful if someone could give me a more precise guide please?

The files you move to a folder are stored locally, so it is normal they cannot be found on other devices. The only way you can get things in sync, is by creating a folder structure in Gmail itself (wouldn't know how, but you can search the Google site for that).

Glenn,
Excellent! Your assumption was correct and that I was moving the emails to a folder in 'On My Mac'.
I have just created a new folder against the specific account (by clicking on the + sign) and moved all the emails from the folder On My Mac into this new folder.
All selected emails now appear across all of my devices. BRILLIANT. So Simple (when yo know how)."
