iPhone 6s Plus - low battery alert missing

Since a couple of days my iPhone 6s plus with iOS 11.4 does not show the low battery alert (where I may choose to set Energy Saving Mode) when hitting 20% and simply goes on draining the battery (whose icon becomes red).

Regardless of whether I set Energy Saving Mode afterwards, no alert shows up at 10%.

Also, connecting the changer regularly changes the phone but does not produce any sound as it used to before.

What can this be?

How can I solve it?

One thing that helped was force quitting all of the applications that were running in the background (some of which were open since months I guess) and then resetting the RAM via holding the Home button in the Turn Off screen.

Maybe the issue will come back, but now it has been working just fine for a few days.

Not sure if you've sorted the problem but I had a similar issue with my iPhone 6 and it turned out the internal battery needed replacing.

I think we have a problem.

Today it happened again, the battery indicator turned red after passing the 20% mark and I didn't get the Alert popup.

I have the feeling that the YouTube app may be the culprit but please, let me know what I may do.

My battery’s health is also pretty low (83%) and I plan to get it replaced before the end of the year but until now this has solved the main issue
