I am building a slideshow in photos on a macbook pro. I already have the order of the photos correctly in an existing album. When i drop the photos in the slideshow, it randomly orders the photos messing up the sequence. How can i keep the order / sequence of my 200 photos in the album when creating the slideshow?

Create the slideshow directly from the album. Do not drag the photos from the album to the slideshow, see: : How to turn an Album into a Slideshow and Preserve the Sorting
Ctrl-click the album in the sidebar. If the sidebar is not visible, reveal the sidebar with ⇧⌘S
From the contextual menu after ctrl-clicking select the command "Create > Slideshow".
It is important to select the album, not the photos in the album.
