Any ideas on how to clear the default ID to complete system update?

I am using my coworker old MacBookAir (they have a nice new one ) and I'm trying to complete a system update but when i enter 'Update All' the dropdown menu to enter your appleid is populated with a default id...it belongs to athe coworker...I'm not able to clear the id and enter my own. I've tried signing out and back in a couple of times - coworker is on holidays and I don't have their password. Any ideas on how to clear the default ID?

Thanks:)

You must erase the drive completely, then install the original OS that came with the computer. I suggest you try:

Internet/Network Recovery of Lion Through Yosemite on a Clean Disk

  1. Restart the computer and after the chime press and hold down the (Command-Option-Shift-R) keys until a globe appears. Wait patiently - 5-15 minutes - until the Utility Menu appears.
  2. Select Disk Utility from the Utility Menu and click on the Continue button.
  3. After Disk Utility loads select the drive (usually, this is the out-dented entry with the mfgr.'s ID and size) from the side list. Click on the Erase tab in Disk Utility’s main window. A drop-down panel will appear.
  4. Set the partition scheme to GUID then click. Set the Format type to Mac OS Extended (Journaled.) Click on the OK button and wait for the process to finish. Quit Disk Utility and return to the Utility Menu.
  5. Select Install OS X from the Utility Menu and click on the Continue button.

Note:

1. To install the version of OS X that was currently installed use Command-Option-R.

2. To install the original factory version when the computer was new use Command-Option-Shift-R.
