MacBook Pro does not have a power button to use for a force restart. My unit was restarting after a new driver was installed for a USB to Ethernet device. On restart the computer is locked on the restart screen which has a “done” bar. How can I force it to turn off, then restart?

If you have a MacBook Pro with Touch ID, the Touch ID button is also the power button.
Hold your finger there for an extended amount to Force Quit the machine.

Unfortunately I don’t use that method.
I did sign on as a guest, to which Safari said “localized string not found” so even safari won’t function
Perhaps my OS has been corrupted?
Any thoughts?
