How to separate iCloud storage from SSD storage on my Mac

Hey!!

I would like to free some space on my iCloud storage, but it is linked with my Macbook.. so if I delete some files from iCloud Drive, then those file will disappear from my Mac too. But I would like to keep them in my Mac (and obviously remove them from cloud).

Is there a quicker way to do this operation, instead of copy that file into an harddisk, disconnect iCloud from Mac, recopy that file into the Mac?
