What mail files need to be moved for each version of macOS?
Is there a list/article somewhere explaining how to transition mail from one Mac to another, based on the version of macOS you are moving from (and preferably to as well)?
For example, in the past I used to move the ~/Library/Mail and ~/Library/Mail Downloads folders, as well as the ~/Library/Preferences/com.apple.mail.plist file to the new computer.
Now in High Sierra it seems the Mail Downloads (and other data) has been moved to ~/Library/Containers/com.apple.mail folder.
Yet moving all of that over to a new computer doesn't seem to get things working on the new computer. None of the mail folders show up, and oddly a small number of messages from the Inbox show up, but that's all.
It seems that a detailed explanation of what needs to be moved for each version of Mail would be very useful, especially since the only official way to move Mail from one computer to another includes moving the entire ~/Library folder (the minimum you can move using the Migration Assistant to get your mail moved), which is a big problem when you're trying to set up a new computer without the cruft of the last one.
