I have a MacBook Pro w/touch bar.
I had put my laptop to sleep or lock screen mode and went to do something. Then I came back opened it up and the keyboard and touch bar lit up, but the screen was completely black. I just hit the power button to turn it off and waited a few seconds before turning it back on and now nothing is showing up on it. On the touch bar the esc key shows up and the caps lock turns green.
For the record, I also get this black screen bug when shutting down with external monitors attached. Also, I normally have the laptop display fully dimmed.
It makes sense. I also use an external monitor connected with USB-C (LG 32UD89-W). I still get this annoying black screen problem every now and then.

Should this be a reoccurring issue? I sometimes have this issue when I leave my 15 18 MBP off for a prolonged amount of time it has this issue.

Same problem. It would be awesome if you could post a link to the video. Reading the number of others having this problem Apple, must be aware of it. Wondering if they are working on a recall or firmware update. I own 3 2018 MacBook Pros and 1 is currently down with this problem.
