Transfering files from iPhone to PC

Hello all, how are you?

I'd rather you didn't ask how I am, as I'm currently hating life trying to transfer some files from my iPhone to my PC. Been trying for almost 2 hours to no avail, goolging this and installing that app...ugh...

ANYWAY, if someone could help me with this, they would be doing me and humanity a favour. I have to record videos and edit them to form this series of training videos for work, it's a project I volunteered for, and the iPhone was great for shooting the videos, I just need help putting them on my PC so I can edit them.

I used to just plug my USB cable into my PC from my laptop and transfer that way, but I don't want to have to ferret around the mass of files and random folders that pops up every time and find that process awkward and frankly idiotic, would have thought it would be a more stream-lined process where the files were in some logical order at least, but hey....Maybe this isn't possible from a development perspective but it's frustrating as a user.

So, can someone help me get these files from my iPhone to my laptop? I tried putting them on iCloud and attempted to 'share' them or whatever, that didn't do the trick, tried enabling iCloud Drive and putting them on that, and there isn't even the option to add photos to it....I'm lost! lol.
