Keyboard shortcut insert date MacBook
Anyone aware of a keyboard shortcut to insert todays date in Numbers on a MacBook?

Command-; (semi-colon) works for me in Numbers '09, but not in Numbers 3.6.2.
This may have been a custom (ie. user specified) shortcut to the Insert > Date and Time menu item. That menu item is active in Numbers '09, and is listed in the menu in Numbers 3.6.2, but is greyed (not active).

In 4.3.1 you have to be in the cell, like if you were entering text, for the menu item to be active.
There is no assigned shortcut but one could be added. I think I used some combination that included the letter D back in Numbers '09 but we all experienced flakiness using a keyboard shortcut; some times it would do it, sometimes not. Hopefully that is fixed.
System Preferences/Keyboard/Shortcuts/App Shortcuts is where you create shortcuts for menu items.

Good call, **. Thought I was, but apparently I'd only selected the cell, not palced the insertion point into the cell.
