Unable to log onto macbook pro 15". Keyboard not working

Mac book Pro 15 " hung and forced a re-start. After the restart now unable to logon - keyboard does not work. I have tried several external keyboards

MacBook Pro TouchBar and Touch ID, iOS 11.4.1

Keyboard not working during log in I can't log into my macbook as the keyboard won't type anything, it just makes a noise when I click the keys. It also won't let me log in using the touchbar because it needs my password first. I tried macOS recovery mode and found that the keyboard works fine, I'm using it right now to type this. But, when I try to log in it doesn't work. I have tried rebooting holding the control-option-shift method but that didn't work too. If anyone knows how to fix this issue let me know! I know my keyboards working fine, so I'm not sure why it won't type during log in.

Macbook pro keyboard not working I have an issue with my Macbook pro (Model A1708) keyboard. Suddenly, when trying to log in, I see that the keyboard is not responding to type my password for log in. The trackpad is working but alone cannot be used to log in. What is the issue? Is the keyboard disconnected or is it faulty? It has stopped responding suddenly. I have important files on my Macbook pro.

From a dead stop you can try both

resetting the SMC http://support.apple.com/kb/ht3964

resetting NVRAM/PRAM http://support.apple.com/kb/ht1379
